It was copied directly from a period original and is the finest we have ever seen. It comes complete with heavy embroidered wire “gold bullion” oak leaf & wreath with a metal “gold plate” eagle insignia. It has the correct mohair type band, removable white cotton top with an all leather bill, chinstrap and sweatband. This elegant hat features a richly hand heavy embroidered wire embroidered “gold bullion” Kriegsmarine Captain’s oak leaf pattern on the cloth covered patent leather visor. Affixed to the Mohair type cap band is a supremely high quality hand embroidered wire “gold bullion” oak leaf wreath and cockade. Both of these gorgeous insignias are high relief and three-dimensional, just as they would have been in 1940.
