New-Made Item: The “schanzzeug” used by the German WWII soldier was a direct legacy from his comrades in the First World War. Stamped steel spade or shovel blade, around 55cm (22 inches) in overall length, riveted to a wooden handle, it did not undergo any noticeable design change for nearly 50 years.
These shovels bear replicated WW2 markings and are dated 1939. Goes great with our reproduction Square-head Entrenching Tool Shovel Leather Cover.
