The MKb42(H) was the predecessor of the famous German MP 44 assault rifle. It was issued in limited numbers, primarily for troop trials, but it was used on the Eastern Front before the MP 43 and MP 44 were introduced. The MKb42(H) is extremely rare, and parts for it are rarer still. The firing pin of the MKb42(H) is characterized by a square cross section with a radiused groove along each face, with four flutes running the length of the pin.
