The finish/color is three-color green camouflage pattern seen on the Russian front and used by the 12th SS at Caen in July 44 in the days and weeks following Normandy invasion. Featuring a double decal SS with NSDAP party shield and wire surround. Every helmet has been hand painted and aged, so none will be the same. We have also aged and darkened the leather liner to give it a one-of-a-kind personalization as if it was picked up after a battle put away in a safe place and rediscovered 70 years later.
Helmets like this in history were used by the 12th SS Panzer Division jugend (HJ). This was a German Waffen-SS armored division during World War II. The jugend was unique because the majority of its junior enlisted men were drawn from members of the HJ, while the senior NCOs and officers were generally veterans of the Eastern Front.
