The Type 99 Arisaka is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 7.7x58mm Arisaka/7.7mm Japan. Manufactured for less than a decade by the Japanese to replace their lighter caliber type 38, the Type 99 Arisaka was used in about a dozen different wars across the globe, including World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. These rifles often made their way into the United States after they were captured in conflicts by American Servicemen and subsequently brought home.
This is a last-ditch rifle manufactured in 1944 at the Nagoya Arsenal. The sights are crude, the barrel is not chrome lined, and there are visible machining marks.
The mum has been ground down and there are rust/pitting spots in the finish. The stock is not cracked.
