Offered for sale is a special edition Colt 1911 WWI Second Battle of Marne Commemorative. The Second Battle of Marne was the last major German offensive on the Western Front during the First World War and, with the Germans defeated, marked the start of the advancement of Allied forces and, soon thereafter, the end of the war. This gun is in very good condition. However, the pistol and display case do not match. The 1911 is for the Second Battle of Marne, while the case is for the Battle of Chateau Thierry. The pistol’s serial number is 5016 M2.
