It is constructed of high quality leather in a natural brown finish with correct steel fittings making it nearly identical to the unissued original in our collection. This is the very hard to find rear sight cover used on the rear site of all Mauser 98k rifles, please Volume 3 of Uniforms and Traditions of the German Army by Angolia & Schmit, Page 298. For added authenticity we have added German WWII Manufacture and date markings. This is an essential accessory for any K98k collector, WW2 Reenactor, or German World War Two collector.
