Original Item: The last fore-end hook design incorporated a rectangular stock stud, which distributed recoil forces more uniformly. Condition varies: will often show pitting due to decades of wood contact. IMA calls this the Type 3 hook. (The Type 2 hook was a modified Type 1; we have not found any of these yet.)
