Original item: The Morris Aiming Tube cartridge is as scarce as the aiming tubes themselves. The British nomenclature is Cartridge, Aiming Tube, Mark II. The caliber is .297 inch/.230 inch, which means that the cartridge case adapted for this round was originally a .297 inch case, necked down to .230 inch. It is also a center fire cartridge, required by the central fire position of the firing pin in the Martini-Henry breech block. It is altogether an unusual little round.
Ours were made by the famous British firm Kynoch in 1898, and are the short version of the cartridge. We have only a small quantity.
