Original Item: Recently sold as surplus from a European fire brigade we have obtained a very small shipment of this early style fire shovel with rounded blade and traditional early pole shaft.
The wood shafts are all painted red, presumably to show intended fire control use. Although long obsolete, these are nearly identical style shovels used by German Army Units in WW2 for Artillery and Tank Entrenchments as well as for German Fire Departments (Feuerwehr) for air raids, making them perfect for Collectors of both Fire and Military Memorabilia. Offered in very sturdy usable condition.
Style of shovels vary slightly. Length approximately 55-65 inches depending on style.
