Original Item: One-of-a-kind set. Purchased directly from a WW2 veterans estate, this fantastic “bring back” set is filled with must of the original contents that Private First Class William Van Kerrebroeck (ASN 36485056) sent home to his family in Illinois during World War Two.
The box itself is a wonderful condition 10.5 cm schwere Kanone 18 ammunition box that is maker marked A. F. J. and dated 1935. It is painted in a wonderful Normandy Como motif and has white stencil that is partially concealed on this lid which we believe reads Kart. S. 10cm K.18. It also bears multiple original paper address labels which were stapled on during the war and read:

4171 Q.M. Depot CO. APO 350
C/O POSTMASTER NEW YORK, N.Y.
To: Miss Juliette Van Kerrebroeck
720 11th Street A
Moline, ILL.
The lid label bears original stamps and the Army inspection stamp with inspector’s signature. The box measures approximately 19″ x 13″ x 7″.
Most incredibly is the original content list which had been nailed down to the lid and reads:
