Original Item: Very Few Available This type of experimental bayonet fighting knife began life an M7 bayonet for use with a the U.S. M16 rifle. However, a one-piece cast aluminum grip panel with integrated knuckle duster guard was added in theater to create a dual purpose bayonet and close combat handheld weapon. This were very popular among USGIs in Vietnam and into the early 1980s but only very few were ever issued.
These examples are offered in very good condition with signs of light rust on the scabbards and overall use. M7 bayonets have various makers including BOC for Bauer Ordnance Co. The M8A1 scabbard also have various maker markings including PWH for the Philadelphia Home for Working Blind.
Overall these are a very interesting unique U.S. fighting knife dating from the Vietnam War and just after.
