Original Item: Only One Available. Offered in very good condition and measuring approximately 17″ x 11″ this American Civilian Exclusion Order Number 83 was issued on May 19th, 1942. This broadside instructs Japanese American residents in southwest San Bernadino and Riverside counties, State of California, that they will be excluded from the area by May 25, 1942 and to prepare for evacuation by that date to a Civil Control Office in the area. Residents failing to comply with the Civil Exclusion Order would be subject to criminal penalties and immediately apprehended and interned. Also instructs “responsible family members” to report to the Civil Control Office on May 20 or May 21 for further instruction.
