Original Item: Only One Available. This is a WWII United States Army homing modification Kit MC619 was a directional antenna attachment designed to be used with Radio Set SCR536 A-B-C-D-E-F (Receiver and Transmitter BC611). For directional reception of a radio signal a loop antenna is provided for use in place of the nondirectional telescopic rod antenna (standard outfit). The loop Antenna AN-190 makes an efficient homing device if operating with a good modern radio receiver.

This example is offered in very good to excellent condition and comes complete with the paratrooper cushioned drop bag CASE CS157 also offered in very good to excellent condition.

The SCR-536 was a hand-held radio transceiver used by the US Army Signal Corps in World War II. It is popularly referred to as a walkie talkie, although it was originally designated a “handie talkie”.

The SCR-536 is often considered the first of modern hand held, self-contained, “handie talkie” two-way radios. It was developed in 1940 by a team led by Don Mitchell, chief engineer for Galvin Manufacturing (now Motorola) and was the first true hand-held unit to see widespread use.
