Freundlich first worked for the Jeanette Doll Company from 1923 to1929, he also formed the Silver Doll & Toy Manufacturing Company in 1923 until 1924 which made Mama dolls. Ralph A. Freundlich, Inc. operated out of New York City from 1929 until 1934, then moved to Clinton, Massachusetts and are best known for their composition novelty dolls. It appears all of Freundlich’s dolls are unmarked so they can be a challenge to identify. Freundlich operations ceased in 1945 when they filed for bankruptcy. He was known for producing W.A.V.E military dolls, 15-16″ tall. This example is offered in very good condition ans measures approximately 15″ tall. These dolls are quite rare today due to the fragile nature of their construction. Furthermore, this example has a complete uniform and WAVES paper badge which is often missing.
