Description
The Smith & Wesson Model 53 is a K-frame revolver similar to the Model 17 but chambered in 22 Jet, a bottlenecked cartridge and joint development between Remington and Smith & Wesson. This revolver also features a two-position hammer that allows the use of either rimfire or centerfire ammunition. This model comes with an extra 22 Mag cylinder, which has some rust and pitting spots, as well as chamber inserts for 22 LR ammo. Overall, this Model 53 is in good condition, with some rust and pitting on the frame, barrel, and backstrap. Purchase includes the original box, manual, and cleaning tools. First manufactured in 1960, the Model 53 was discontinued after less than 15 years of production.
