Description
The Winchester Model 70 Pre-64 is a family of bolt-action rifles available in a wide variety of calibers. Manufactured from 1936-1963, these Model 70s feature the original Mauser-type non-rotating claw extractor, with controlled round feed. This is unlike the later models’ push feed system. The Model 70 Pre-64 was available with barrels at 22”, 24”, or 26” inches of length, while the stock is checkered to ensure users have a firm grasp on these half-century old classic rifles. Shooting Times named this the “Bolt-action Rifle of the Century” in 1999.
