Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very good condition German WWII Military Administration Officer’s Schirmmütze Visor Cap, with a lovely “Crushed” shape. This “saddle-form” shape is highly desirable, and is only achieved on caps with a lot of wear and service. The cap shows high quality fabrication, made with typical Heer army feldgrau (Field Gray) green / gray wool with a forest green band and a traditional high front, with matching dark green piping along the top edge and flanking either side of the band, the Waffenfarbe (Corps Color) for the Militärverwaltung (Military administration).
It is decorated with a well detailed embroidered bullion eagle insignia on the peak and and an open silver bullion embroidered wreath surrounding a tri-color cockade on the band. It has the correct Silver bullion cord “chinstrap”, attached to silvered buttons, indicating that this cap is for an Officer. The visor / peak on this cap is black-finished “vulcanfibre”, the standard material for NCOs and Officers alike.
The cap is lined with cream colored rayon fabric and still retains the complete celluloid diamond. The stitching is fully intact, except where a label has been added, which shows the name and location this officer was stationed.
Adolf…
This indicates that “Adolf Stritte” was an officer at an Army Provisions Depot, which were managed by the Military Administration.
The brown pressed paper sweatband is present, but shows much wear and has some tears. There are also some repairs using old tape, as well as modern tape, and folded paper under the band to help support it. Overall condition is nice, but definitely worn. There have seen some stitching repairs, as this is an example that saw extensive service. Definitely one that was REALLY THERE!
This is a very nice, high quality German Heer Administration Officer peak visor cap, offered for sale in very good condition with a beautiful saddle-form shape. Ready to display!
